Autoimmune Hypoglycaemia – Graves' Disease Graves' disease of the B cells has so far been described in very few patients, possibly because of the difficulty of demonstrating the presumed causal mechanism, namely the presence in the plasma of stimulatory autoantibodies to pancreatic B cells. However, since antibodies of this type can be found in plasma from most patients with fasting hypoglycaemia, their pathogenetic importance must still be considered to be unproved.
